Vienna with kids in winter: rainy days, museums, ice skating
Florian Mahrl · As of 6 November 2026 · 21 places
When it rains on a Saturday, the question is always the same: where do we go, so that nobody climbs the walls by the afternoon. With two kids, a rainy day at home does not go well for long.
These places are all in the city. They come from our German lists for rainy days, museums and Advent markets; the ages are the ones in our data – your child knows better. Most are checked against the NÖ-Card list 2026/27 (Lower Austria’s regional pass, which also covers some places in Vienna), the federal museums and the places’ own websites. We have not been everywhere ourselves.
